The number one question I am getting right now is, “How is the new Healthcare plan going to affect me?” My answer is, “More choices are ALWAYS better.”

When the government wants to choose what program we can and cannot have, well, “That is just un-American.”  There is no way the government can get it right for ALL Americans.

Here’s an example: I know for myself, I had no desire to pay for Maternity benefits and I’m sure there are other women that feel the same. I think it’s safe to say that most men do not wish to pay for Maternity benefits either. On Obamacare  you were paying for 64 different wellness visits. I don’t know of ANYONE ever having 64 wellness visit in one year.

In the beginning, Obamacare was GREAT when the insurance companies had no idea how many sick people would get on the plan and file claims. The government started subsidizing with tax dollars and the payments for the first couple of years were okay and people below an income of 50K were happy. Reality hit when the insurance companies starting losing money and the government stopped subsidizing there losses. Premiums went way up and people were not happy.

Everyone wants ‘great’ insurance at low, low cost but will settle for ‘good’ insurance for a low cost, but no one wants to pay over $1000-$1500 a month for insurance that does not go into effect until you reach a $7000 deductible.  Then, if you don’t buy this “not so good insurance” then the government says they are going to TAX you! I really loved the part when self-employed folks did the “right thing” and purchased Obamacare, but guessed wrong on their income and now have to pay back $3000 or $5000 or even $10,000 when they do their taxes. Now that makes for really, really happy people!

Everyone will have choices to suit their needs.  If you don’t make enough money to choose the plan with “maternity benefits” or “64 wellness visits” this time, then choose a plan with basic benefits because it would be a better option for you. If you are in my age bracket, your premium will be higher than young folks, then you can choose a plan with a higher deductible to get your payment where you need it to fit your budget.

More Choices = Happy People
